About me

Meet Jude – The Artist Behind True Form Permanent Makeup LTD

Hi, I’m Jude, the face behind True Form Permanent Make Up.

For years I worked in tech, climbing the ladder and ticking all the “right” boxes, but I always felt like something was missing. I wanted to do work that felt creative, meaningful, and truly me. After some soul searching, I discovered permanent makeup — and it was love at first sight.

What drew me in wasn’t just the artistry, but the way it can uplift someone instantly. Brows that frame the face. Lips that look fresh and defined. That little spark of confidence when you look in the mirror and think, “Yes, that’s me.”

I bring a mix of creativity and care to every treatment. With a background as a coach, I’m a natural at putting people at ease and explaining things in a way that feels simple and clear. Having lived with anxiety and ADHD myself, I also understand how important it is to feel safe, listened to, and comfortable — especially when it comes to something as personal as your face.

At True Form, my focus is always on creating results that look natural, subtle, and uniquely yours — never “one size fits all” or Instagram-perfect. Just you, feeling like your most confident self, every single day.

What I Do

Services

Lip Blush

Add a soft wash of colour and definition to your lips, giving you that “just bitten” natural tint. Lip blush enhances the shape of your lips, balances any uneven tones, and gives the appearance of fullness — all without heavy makeup. You’ll wake up with lips that look fresh and radiant every day.

Ombre Brows

Soft, shaded brows that create definition without harsh lines. Ombre brows are perfect if you want a polished but natural look that lasts. They’re also a great choice for sensitive skin, as the technique is gentle and less triggering than hairstrokes. Think of it as a subtle boost that frames your face beautifully, with results that can lift your whole appearance.

Hairstroke Brows

A more natural, hair-like finish created with a digital machine rather than a blade. This makes it gentler than microblading and suitable for more skin types. If you want brows that mimic your own hairs and blend seamlessly, this option gives you that “born with it” look.

Brow Wax & Tint

Not ready for permanent makeup? A wax and tint is the perfect refresh. It shapes your brows, enhances definition, and gives you a polished look that lasts several weeks

FREQUENTLY Asked Questions

1. Does PMU hurt?

The most common question! The truth is, PMU is not completely painless, but it’s very manageable. I use a high-quality numbing agent before and during the procedure to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching or a mild discomfort rather than actual pain. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but I always prioritise your comfort.

2. Why is it called Permanent Make Up?

Permanent makeup is known by several names — including semi-permanent makeup, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing. All of these terms are correct, though I prefer “permanent makeup” or “cosmetic tattooing,” as they’re the clearest descriptions of what the treatment really is.

Whether done with a machine or by microblading, the process is always a form of tattooing. When performed by a well-trained professional, pigment is implanted only into the upper layer of the dermis. This ensures the results fade gradually and evenly over time, especially when high-quality pigments and good technique are used. However, even when it’s no longer visible, some pigment will always remain in the skin — which is why the term “permanent” is the most accurate.

3. What’s the Healing Process Like?

Healing differs slightly between lips and brows, but the process generally follows these stages:

Brows: Expect some redness and mild swelling for the first day or two. Scabbing or flaking may occur over 5–10 days, after which the color may appear lighter than expected — this is normal and will settle after full healing.

Lips: Lips may feel tender and slightly swollen for the first few days. Peeling and dryness are common over the first week. The final color will gradually emerge over 4–6 weeks.

Following aftercare instructions is essential to ensure the best results and even fading.

4. How long does it last?

The longevity of permanent makeup varies depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and the area treated. On average:

Brows: Typically last 1–3 years.

Lips: Usually last 2–3 years.

With proper care and occasional touch-ups, the results can stay looking fresh and natural over time.

5. Can you correct previous permanent makeup?

Corrections are sometimes possible. Jude can assess your existing work and recommend the best approach, whether it’s a subtle refresh, colour adjustment, or more extensive correction. A consultation is the best way to determine the right plan for your individual case.

Jude is aiming to train in specialised laser removal by the end of the year, so you could be added to her list for a complete undo/redo of your PMU after your phone consultation.

6. Is there anything that would mean I cannot have permanent makeup?

Certain conditions or circumstances may prevent safe treatment. These include, but are not limited to:

- Skin conditions or infections in the treatment area

- Certain medical conditions (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, blood disorders)

- Pregnancy or breastfeeding

- Recent cosmetic procedures in the same area

A full consultation will cover your medical history and ensure that permanent makeup is safe and suitable for you.

7. What is the difference between microblading, nanoblading, machine hairstrokes, powder and ombre brows?

These terms all describe different techniques for creating natural-looking brows, and the best option depends on your skin type, desired look, and personal preference:

- Microblading: Uses a fine hand tool to create individual hair-like strokes. Ideal for those with normal to dry skin who want a natural, textured look.

- Nanoblading: Similar to microblading but with an even finer tool, producing very delicate, precise strokes.

- Machine hairstrokes: Done with a digital machine to mimic natural brow hairs. Suitable for all skin types and can be longer-lasting than hand-bladed techniques.

- Powder brows: Creates a soft, shaded effect that looks like makeup. Ideal for clients who prefer a fuller, defined brow or have oily or sensitive skin.

- Ombré brows: A variation of powder brows with a gradient effect — lighter at the start of the brow and darker towards the tail. This gives a polished, natural finish that’s slightly less dramatic than classic powder brows.

A consultation with Jude is the best way to determine which technique will suit your face shape, skin type, and desired style; she does not do micro/nano blading.
